Welcome to our farm! We are Scott, Tanya, Alex and Jordan. Ours is a small family farm located in Upstate South Carolina. A little town called Belton, in an area affectionately referred to by the locals as "Possum Kingdom". Tanya's parents moved here 35 years ago when she was a child and now her own family lives on the property she grew up on.
Both Scott and Tanya grew up with horses. From dressage to rodeo...from trail riding to team penning...the interests varied, but always horses! As Alex and Jordan grew old enough, they joined in as well. We are now thrilled to see our children enjoying the same activities we grew up loving. Its truly a family affair.
Tanya grew up with American Paint Horses, so thats what we've always had. Early in 2002, we discovered the wonderful world of Gypsy and Drum Horses. After almost two years of research and decision making, DF Chalk Talk joined the family. While we still love the Paints...the awesome Drum Horse is where our focus for the future lies.
Now, with the careful selection of a few excellent Draft and Drum Horse mares, we have entered into our own top quality breeding program. Our first Drum babies by Chalk were born on the farm on July 2, of 2006. They were unbelievable! The two years since we have continued to be excited about what Chalk is producing. These foals are the first of what we know will continue to be exceptional foals from Mariah Farms.
Come on in and meet our family...both human and non-human. We have the privilege of sharing our lives with some amazing creatures.
