Chalk loves being the center of attention...

On February 7, 2009 we once again participated in the South Carolina Horseman's Council's Parade of Breeds. This year, we showed four Drums as well as the littlest Drum!  (Shetland Pony, Bear, in costume) Thanks to friends Mike Pitts and Doug Mcmillan for riding Bobo and Snow for us and Rena Compton for participating with little Bear!

Also thanks to Circle M Ranch and the South Carolina Horseman's Council for a great time once again!

In November, 2008, for the first time ever we actually participated in our hometown Christmas Parade in Belton SC!  Chalk pulled his carriage and Rena drove little Bear in his cart for his very first apearance as "the littlest Drum".

On February 9, 2008 we participated in the SC Horseman's Council Annual Meeting.   Its not often we get to do things with the Drums locally, so it was a nice change!  It was a very well run event and we had a wonderful time.  We had our own Drum Horse demo in the Parade of Breeds and Chalk also participated in the horse drawn vehicle demo for the Carolina Carriage Club.   Folks got to come see the Drums that normally don't get the chance to see them work...so that was fun as well!

Special thanks to our best friends, Rick and Rena Compton for manning the booth all day.  Rick's parents, Rick and Edna Compton for being our passengers in the carriage.  Laura Moon for bringing Boon all the way up from Daytona Beach, FL to be with us.  And ALL our wonderful friends that came out and helped us pull it off!

Easley, SC Christmas Parade 2007.  For this one, Mariah Farms teamed up with Dark Horse Equestrian Centre for our parade entry.  Our own family with Chalk and Snow, led Bekah's students from her farm.  Bekah was aside on Snow this time.  We enjoyed having them with us and hope to do so again next year!

Simpsonville, SC Christmas Parade, 2007  Once again, we had an absolute blast!  Thanks to all who helped us out.  The brave award for the day goes to Rena...who had never ridden sidesaddle before and rode Snow for us!

November 30, 2007...Chalk, Tanya and Jordan were invited by the Butler Guard to do a sidesaddle demonstration as part of Palmetto High School's Civil War education day.  Jordan is the one aside on Chalk and even Alex had to give the sidesaddle a shot.

In April of 2007 we once again traveled to Columbus, Ohio for Equine Affaire for Chalk to participate in the Drum Horse demo's.  It was a wonderful trip as always getting together with folks we don't get to see often...and meeting new ones that share our love of Drums!  However, Chalk, his son Boon and I went alone, so unfortunately we had noone taking pictures while we participated in the demos.  This is the only shot I have been able to find, so if anyone has any they would like to share I sure would appreciate it!

On March 3,2007, Chalk and I along with my friend Michelle who was escaping Wisconsin weather for a weekend, appeared at the Georgia Horse Lover's Field Day.  Chalk did a breed demo in his cart to introduce spectators to the Drum Horse as well as particpating in a sidesaddle demo with the Georgia Ladies Aside.

In 2006 we participated in our first ever Christmas Parades.  Chalk and Snow were better behaved than we could have hoped.  Even when we got to the largest parade, Greenville's Poinsettia Parade...which was also at night with literally thousands of children lining the sidewalks!

In October of 2006 Chalk was the first ever Drum Horse to appear in Kentucky Horse Park.  We participated in the Parade of Breeds with our Sidesaddle Club.

April of 2005, Equine Affaire in Columbus Ohio.  Chalk's first formal appearance in a Drum demo.  He was wonderful and couldn't have been more of a gentleman.  I was scared to death!
